The Six Trigonometric Functions and the Unit Circle
The Six Trigonometric Functions
Let P be point on the unit circle along the arc EB. Let t be the radian measure of the central angle of the unit circle having P as a point on its whose terminal side. Prove the following algebraically:
1. sin t = DP
2. cos t = HP
3. tan t = EF
4. cot t = BG
Move point P on the unit circle. Note how the values of sin t, cos t, tan t and cot t change.
